There are millions of us, marching every night
Into their sweet delight
And the sun won’t rise again, the moon might hide again
The stars might cry again, the sky might fall again
Behind the mountains of love and hate, broken images of your faith
Swallowing us whole every night
Before your prayers shrink too far
Behind the mountains of love and hate
Broken images of your faith
Swallowing us whole every night
Behind the mountains of love, and hate…
Translation:
I will see you again, beyond the jungle of our bodies
Even though your stay with us was short and sweet
Under the shadow of moon you held my hands, clouds were all still black
Stars were filled with nights, there was no way out for us
I will see you again, beyond the jungle of our bodies
A fantastic album. I can see why they didn't continue under the name The Evens, as it's a different sound with the bass added. Coriky is the Evens + Joe Lally from Fugazi on bass. If you can imagine The Evens with a slightly more funky, aggressive sound like Fugazi... that's what you get! And there's no way that can ever go wrong. What a great debut album!! smiledozer
